Crystal Cove is one of our favorite beaches in Orange County. The views are incredible and it offers something to do for people of all ages. Crystal Cove is great for day trips to the beach but there are also beach cottages allowing you to escape reality for a night or two as well.  If you have a chance to stay at Crystal Cove Beach Cottages when traveling to Orange County, here are some things you can do during your visit.

Visit The Crystal Cove Museum

Located at the south end of the cottage cove in cottage #13, the museum has a long history. As a teen, I watched the movie Beaches countless times with my best girlfriend. The museum cottage was used in filming the movie with Bette Midler and Barbara Hershey as well as other movies from years past.  Explore and learn as a family as you take a look back at the history of the area.

Dine at The Beachcomber Cafe

Located right off the soft sands of the beach The Beachcomber Cafe is a cozy restaurant that offers some of the most beautiful views in Orange County.  You can walk to the restaurant from any of the cottages and enjoy your meal with the ocean breeze gently blowing in. Meals are very reasonable priced at The Beachcomber Cafe and large enough that you can share a meal as well.

If you are not staying at the Beach Cottages you should park on the opposite side of PCH and wait for the shuttle to take you over to The Beachcomber Cafe. The shuttle costs one dollar per person each way and let’s just say that you will find the driver to be entertaining.
